We have worked with the people at Mountain Laurel Chalets for nearly a quarter of a century. We still have the same contact person we had when we first started with this company. I never have to explain who we are or where our house is. There is a family-like atmosphere at MLC that makes it a pleasure to deal with them. Whether it is problems being worked on or ideas to advance our property’s value, we always feel that MLC management has our best interest at heart, and that we are the most important thing on their plate. Everyone from Management, Maintenance, Front Desk and the Laundry folks are dedicated to making MLC first-class. It would be impossible to keep our property up remotely as well as MLC does for us. We cherish our relationship with them and certainly are going to continue working with them.

A Family Oriented Rental Company

Mountain Laurel Chalets is truly a family oriented company. Tom Goodwin (CEO), his staff and employees are all very polite and responsive to problems and questions relating to the chalets. I cannot think of any suggestions I could make to improve the way Mountain Laurel Chalets handles the chalets and/or improve relations with the chalet owners.

I have been a chalet owner for about 25 years. I was with another rental company for 5 years. The company was slow to react to problems at my chalet, were not family oriented and were slow in distributing rental money to their chalet owners. I have been with Mountain Laurel Chalets for about 20 years. If I were not happy with them, I certainly would have found another rental company.

As stated earlier, Mountain Laurel Chalets is truly a family oriented company. Many of the employees, including Tom Goodwin (CEO) and his family are our friends. If a problem occurs at my chalet, a Mountain Laurel employee will call me to discuss how to resolve the problem. I do not have to know more about the "problem" because I totally trust their judgement in making immediate decisions to resolve any problem.

Taking care of my property investment and cleanliness of the property.

I purchased my chalet in June 2007. The former owner was using Mountain Laurel Chalets (MLC) to manage his property. He owned several properties in the Gatlinburg area and had previously managed and booked his properties himself. He said MLC was managing the property when he purchased it and stayed with them because he said, “they are great and is the best management company in the area”. At the time, MLC was not adding new properties to manage and he didn’t want to vacate their management.
MLC was very good then and they have gotten better with age. About 10 years ago, Tom Goodwin, became their CEO and with his leadership have become even better. I am a Christian and I admire Tom’s Christian faith and principles. Especially his view that MLC, the owners, and guests are like “family”.
The #2 person on their management team is Corey Hawks. He came on board about the time that Tom because CEO, in fact, Tom may have hired him. Corey is very knowledgeable on vacation rental marketing trends and understanding websites algorisms for vacation rentals. I have been very satisfied with my rental bookings, especially since Corey came on board.
The person that I interface with most at MLC is my owner rep, Kay King. She has been with MLC for about 35 years, grew-up in the area, and knows the pulse of various service businesses in the area. She is very responsive to an Owner’s needs. She usually takes care of a problem and then notifies me of what occurred and how she resolved it. She always contacts me about high dollar repairs and gives me some options to resolve. She also keeps the owners informed of trends that the guests are wanting in the chalet.
I keep a Guest Book at my chalet for the guest to document their memories and receive feedback. The #1 comment that I receive is the cleanliness of the property when they arrive. From the folks at the front desk to the cleaning crews to the maintenance team, I have complete trust that they will take care of my property and the guests needs.
I am inundated with offerings from other management companies for them to manage my property and I don’t even consider for a second because my investment in my property is too valuable. As the previous owner stated, why go somewhere else when you have the “best” managing my property.

We never have to worry about our property.  The staff is always on top of anything & no worries to us

Best Vacation Rental Management Company

Intimate service with sophisticated mgmt.

Mountain Laurel Chalets manages 3 short term rentals for me. I have used two other management companies in the past and attempted to self-manage one of my own properties. Mountain Laurel Chalets has earned all my business through their high standards for service, performed with a personal touch. The same level of service applies to both guest relations and owner relations, unlike some of the larger companies in the market. Mountain Laurel Chalets is a family company that stays on the industry’s leading edge using a sophisticated approach to revenue management and social media advertising. They employ a high integrity team; all pleasant, attentive, and knowledgable.  Simply put, Mountain Laurel Chalets is a best-in-class vacation rental management company.

Customer Service

Our friendship with MLC began with our grandparents back in 1974. They had purchased land up the hill from the MLC office and Ralph & Dot (MLC founders) were such gracious and loving neighbors. We have purchased additional properties and when the time came to select a business to rent our cabins, we did not hesitate to choose MLC.
We have not regretted this decision. Our guest at our cabins leave nothing but great reviews on the MLC house keeping and staff. As an owner the MLC management listens to our concerns and issues and strives to maintain a great owner/management relationship. We so appreciate the efficient gracious customer service and care MLC demonstrates.
In 2016 we lost one of our cabins to the Gatlinburg fire. The staff at MLC was dealing with a lot of devastation but they rallied around their faith to find strength to help us and the many others navigate through.
We are on the fifth generation enjoying time in Gatlinburg and our friendship with the MLC family is approaching 50 years. We are so thankful and blessed to have them be such a great friend/partner throughout the years.

MLC embodies their belief in a family business model marked by extra-mile service centered on a genuine commitment to integrity and service excellence. Unlike most large, brand name management companies, the MLC owner and leadership are all highly accessible and responsive to me on a “first-name” basis as an owner.

I value MLC’s genuine stewardship of the community and properties and have benefited greatly by their legacy of expertise in the Smoky Mountain area from luxury design, guest services expectations, and vested relationships with local service vendors. Whether it’s a hand delivered Thanksgiving pie, celebration gift for a guest’s engagement on property, or some TLC for an emergency repair— MLC provides me and our guests personal, worry-free, white-glove hospitality service that leads to satisfied, repeat guests!

This is a great company! Very responsive to any need you bring up!

I love the owner and general manager! They are very honest and helpful. They provide good advice on making your property competitive. They turned ours around! I like that it’s a family owned business that has been in Gatlinburg for 50 years and not a huge corporation with branches all over the country.

After 20+ years we are still raving fans

Mountain Laurel Chalets is like family to us. They care for our home (Amazing Grace) as though it was their own home. Honestly, we have never lost any sleep knowing this team is watching out for us and our home. The staff is top notch and we have to utmost trust in their service and business decisions. There are so many options in the Gatlinburg market and we have never consider changing companies. Through the ups and downs, Mountain Laurel Chalets has been reliable and a great partner in our vacation home.
